Hello and welcome back! Today is October 1st, can you believe it?
I’ve been wanting some fall flowers to put at the doorstep of our apartment. I didn’t really want to buy any real plants because I’m still not quite there with my green thumb. Like always, I’ve hit up Joann, Michael’s, and Target. While I love fall and the decor gets me oh so excited, the prices for some items don’t. Am I the only one who goes into a store and sees something cute and thinks, “I could totally make this”? Well I do! And that means I’m going to show you too!
The fake flowers I’ve seen in stores are just more pricey than I care to spend. I decided to make the floral arrangements myself. My favorite craft stores have really nice and high quality fake flowers, but I didn’t mind if the flowers were lower quality because they were going outside anyway. If you have a Dollar Tree near you and you need any fall decor, I highly recommend you check them out! I was so impressed and surprised by their selection. I spent around $6 each to make these little floral arrangements.
Here’s what you will need for this project:
- Wire basket
- Floral foam
- Assorted fake flowers
- Floral Moss
I recommend starting out by separating each flower individually so you can place it wherever you like.
Now I do recommend doing this part outside or over a garbage bag because it gets messy.
Place a few pieces of the foam inside of the basket.
Fill the basket with the floral moss until the foam is no longer visible.
Here’s what it should like once the foam is completely covered.
Now you can add the flowers in whichever arrangement you like by sticking the stem into the floral foam.
Once you have the arrangement you like, you’re all set!
I made two floral arrangements and placed them on our doorstep. I love how they turned out! They go perfectly with the wreath I made.
I’m so excited for October. It is my favorite month of the year. Now if only this Florida weather would catch up with my fall decor!
What are you excited about this month? Let me know in the comments.
Stay tuned for a lot of exciting things this month. Until next time!
