Happy Thursday, my friends! How is your week going? I cannot believe we are almost halfway through July. July is one of my favorite months. The fourth of July, lots of sunshine, pool parties, beach days… Oh, and not to mention my birthday!
DIY Tufted Headboard
For years I searched for the perfect headboard. A beautiful diamond tufted wingback headboard with nailhead trim. It’s a look that is both classy and feminine enough and makes me want to jump into bed with a glass of wine and read a good book. (or binge watch Netflix!)
Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and Z Gallerie all have amazing headboards with everything I wanted, but with price that can be hard to swallow.
How could I get the expensive looking “Restoration Hardware-Style” headboard I so desperately desired, but on a budget?
Life Hacks for Travel
I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for ways to make things easier and more efficient for myself, especially when it comes to traveling.
In honor of summer vacations (which I just got back from myself), I’ve decided to round up my five best life hacks for traveling to share with you. As much as I love to travel, it’s hard to remember to pack everything sometimes.
I have used all of these hacks in the last week and they really work!
What I Wore – Broadway
Watching a musical on Broadway has been on my bucket list since I was a kid. Fun fact about me: I love to sing! I was in chorus from Kindergarten through high school. I was even in a school production of Annie when I was twelve. I played Grace, Oliver Warbucks’ assistant. One of the songs is called “NYC.” I remember singing it onstage and imagining what it would be like on Broadway. Earlier this week I was finally able to go to the Big Apple. It was everything I imagined it would be and more. The bright lights of Time Square, fancy people walking the streets in a hurry, the blaring horns – it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
DIY Home Decor – Marble Tissue Box
Hey guys! I’ve got a really fun and cute project for you this week. Continuing in my little DIY home decor series, I’m going to show you how to spruce up your tissue boxes! Tissues are something I have to keep around the house. As someone who suffers from seasonal allergies, tissues are a necessity. I’ve always thought the boxes they come in were kind of ugly, but now I don’t have to hide them and they fit right in with my decor.
DIY Home Decor – Picture Frame Tray
Happy Sunday, sweet friends! Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I typically use the last day of the weekend to get organized. I’ll plan out the week ahead, do some grocery shopping, and tidy up around the house.
One of the things that helps me stay organized around the house is all of my trays. Continue reading “DIY Home Decor – Picture Frame Tray”
DIY Home Decor – Coffee Filter Flowers
Happy Friday Eve, friends! We are so close to the weekend. (Happy dance)
Does anyone out there like home decor? Anyone? I think there were one or two yeses out there.
I LOVE decorating (parties, homes, cookies, you name it). If it can be decorated, I love it! There is something so special about putting together pieces and bringing your own style, especially when it comes to your home.
A Walk in the Park
Happy Saturday everyone! Raise your hand if you live for the weekend. I know I do! Weekends are the best time to relax and refresh. Isaac and I love to take walks together especially on the weekends. We both work in an office so we love getting fresh air whenever we can. This week was full of rain so we didn’t do much walking. Fortunately the weather this morning was beautiful and sunny, so we took advantage of it and stopped by our local Farmer’s Market.
How to Fix a Stuck Zipper
I got a pair of distressed jeans on clearance from TJ Maxx the other day (score!) When I got home I decided to model them for my boyfriend. But when I tried to zip them up, the zipper was stuck. I’m talking “break your nail, boyfriend can’t even zip it” stuck. Now of course these jeans were final sale and I couldn’t return them. No wonder they were on clearance! Frustrated, I combed through websites claiming things like Windex or pencil lead would do the trick, but none of those worked. Until I found this: Lip Balm.
